Expertise: Adaptation of E. coli for xenobiotic metabolism.
The metabolic engineering expertise required for redesigning RNA synthesis will be provided in the lab of Prof. Véronique de Berardinis by PI Dr. Valérie Pezó (CEA) together with Dr. Philippe Marlière (TXN). Together, they have a stellar track record in the field of introducing xenometabolism into model bacteria. The practical work will be mainly done at CEA, where Dr. Pezó entertains a state-of-the-art lab in bacterial engineering, and the computational work at TXN.
